Starting in July, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) begins their 2026 Summer Free for All Cultural Events with free movies, concerts, festivals and special events taking place at parks across the metro. “It wouldn’t be summer in Portland without Summer Free for All,” says PP&R Interim Director Sonia Schmanski. “There’s something special about gathering in our parks to enjoy live music, movies and time with neighbors, friends and family.”
In SE, check out Energize Outside at Mt. Scott Park, SE 72nd Ave. and Harold St. Thursday, July 16, 6:30 pm. Come together for an evening of dance and sound bathing.
Friday, July 24 is a showing of the animated film Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024) PG at Brentwood Park, SE 60th Ave. and Duke St. The event starts at 7:30 pm with the movie beginning at dusk. Enjoy the (subtitled) movie under the stars and free popcorn.
In August, there are two concerts in SE, starting with the Blonde Neon concert at Kenilworth Park, SE 34th Ave. and Holgate Blvd. Saturday, August 22, 6:30 pm. The female-fronted band brings synth-heavy, dance-worthy hits of 80s rock and new wave to the stage.
The final event of the Summer Free for All series is the Bridgetown Get Down concert at Woodstock Park, SE 47th Ave. and Steele St. Saturday, August 29, 6:30 pm. Dance, sing along or just chill to the yacht rock, R&B, high-energy pop and soul covers from the Portland based seven-piece band.
