Stark Street Studios & Gallery, one of the oldest clay studios in Portland, holds their annual holiday show November 27-29 and December 1-24. Each year on Thanksgiving weekend and through December, they open their studio doors and gallery to welcome the public in for the holidays. The work of 11 working studio potters, sculptors and one jeweler will be on display. Discover handcrafted works of art for holiday gift giving and mingle with local artists in a fun and festive atmosphere while shopping in the gallery and wandering through the studio spaces.
Each artist has their own unique style and way of expressing themselves through clay. Explore Amy Fields with her wheel thrown porcelain nature inspired work to Scott Cameron Bell’s hand built colorful quirky vases and mini birds on houses to Julie Stewart’s beautiful earthy raku lamps and flower vases. Their sole jeweler, Carol Griewe, hand fabricates all her pieces, her signature element being her unique ceramic stones exquisitely incorporated into her modern sculptural art jewelry.
