Tuesday, October 13 is the last day to register to vote in the statewide general election November 3. To register to vote in Oregon, you must be a US citizen, a resident of Oregon and at least 16 years old. Those under 18 years of age will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after their 18th birthday.
Online voter registration, at oregonvotes.gov, requires an Oregon driver license, permit or ID card number issued by the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Service Division (DMV) or if you don’t have one of those items, the last four digits of your social security number and a signature. Those using the last four digits of their social security number can still use the online system, but they will need to have access to a printer. After entering their information, a PDF of the voter registration card will appear. Print it, sign it and mail or deliver it to your county elections office.
Those who prefer not to register online to vote can complete a voter registration form, found at sos.oregon.gov/elections/Documents/SEL500.pdf, and return it to their county elections office. In Multnomah County, the office is located at 1040 SE Morrison St.
