Blue Monk Mixed Bag Benefit for a new sound system

The Blue Monk is hosting a Mixed Bag Benefit to raise money for a sound-system upgrade and they are hosting a rollicking all day benefit show. There will be music upstairs and downstairs Saturday October 19 with a sliding scale cover of $5 – $10. Besides all the music, there will be a silent auction with band stuff and art. There’s an open call for donated band merchandise, art too. Email for info.

The list of musical acts is endless too including Cambrian Explosion, Adam Cedar (hip hop), Neighbor Wave, Muscle and Marrow, Born Cosmic, Gabby Holt, Joseph Napkin, Johnny Keener, The Jones Society, Jeremy Murphy, Joey Beats Brady, Neilson Olroyd, Jeremiah of the Hill People  and many others. It may take several days to fit all the bands.

Other events at Blue Monk this month are John Lennon Tribute night Saturday, October 5, the Sunday night Jazz series curated by Mary Sue Tobin, Grayskul CD release, Oct. 17, Off-Beat Bellydance, Oct. 18 and lots more.
