There will be a new Community Garden at Harrison Park School, 2225 SE 87th Ave. Join us and The Portland Timbers, to build a garden on June 21, from 9 am until the afternoon. Bring your gloves!
This K-8 school has the most diverse student body in Portland. The garden will have raised beds for Harrison Park School classrooms as well as many beds for community neighbors to grow their own vegetables. There are also plans to build a pavilion to hold events at the site.
The garden is a collaborative effort of Portland Public Schools, JADE District, Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon, Outgrowing Hunger and local volunteers. It is funded by generous donations from Oregon Community Fund, Detwiler Foundation, Collins Foundation and Intel. Volunteer efforts from Harrison Park School teachers, Quaker Voluntary Service, Agape Church, and local neighbors planned and organized the garden.
