Life.Art.Being is an integrative arts festival celebrating expressive and contemplative practices. The festival runs July 7 through 12 and is co-hosted by Be Space: movement arts studio and Shambhala Meditation Center of Portland.
Barbara Ford of GAIA Workshops provides this year’s keynote theme of “Restoring Intimacy With Our World”; a series based on eco-philosopher Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects. This pioneering group work began in the 1970s.
On Thursday night, Shambhala’s Lisa Stanley participates in an evening discussion called The Earth Body/Body Story. Other panelists include Barbara Ford, somatic arts pioneer Mary Seereiter, and performing artist, Damaris Webb. The panel will be moderated by Buskerfly Productions’ Abbey Pleviak.
“Life.Art.Being invites diverse circles into an integrated community experience by drawing the connection between somatic, mindfulness, and deep ecology practices.”
