Portland Folkmusic Society presents folk legend Bill Staines in an October 16 concert at St. David of Wales, 2800 SE Harrison.
Staines is an intimate performer, blending story and song with twenty-six recordings to his credit. He’s written over three hundred songs and many have been recorded by Peter, Paul, and Mary, Makem and Clancy, Nanci Griffith, Glen Yarborough, Jerry Jeff Walker and others. Unforgettable songs like All God’s Critters, The Roseville Fair and River are folk music classics. Composer David Amram describes Staines as “a modern day Stephen Foster. His music will be around a hundred years from now.” See acousticmusic.com/staines
