SINGING FOR OUR LIVES, a joint concert of Oregon’s four Peace Choirs, is hosted by the Portland Peace Choir on Sunday, February 14, 2 pm at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1126 SW Park Ave. It’s family friendly and followed by their famous bake sale. Suggested donation is sliding scale $5 – $15. Participating choirs will be: Portland Peace Choir, Eugene Peace Choir, In Accord Community Choir and Rogue Valley Peace Choir. See

MICAH & ME – AN IN-HOUSE DANCE PARTY for kids of all ages, free and open to all at Beanstalk Montavilla, 8021 SE Stark St. every first Friday from 10 am – 11 am. Musicians connect with youngsters while playing fun music on guitar and ukulele. See or call 503.327.8506.

THE BATHTUB ART MUSEUM is saying goodbye to Portland with a final show on February 5. The show is called Bathlandia and features mail art postcards about bathtubs at 211 SE Madison #20.from 6 to 9 pm. The Zymoglyphic Museum that shares the studio will be taking over and expanding but the Bathtub Art Museum is moving to San Antonio, Texas to join Barney Smith’s Toilet Seat Art Museum, a match made in heaven. The Red Bat Press will also be moving to Texas and hosts the Leaping out of Portland Sale Feb 27-29 noon to 5 pm and Feb 29 (Monday),10 am to 2 pm. The press has been around since 2002 and was started by artist Carye Bye.

INSTORE AT MILLENNIUM – 18 year old Jack Mortensen, musician songwriter from Tigard, grew up listening to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, James Brown and Jimi Hendrix. His first release, Interceptor, features seven original songs and he’s live at Music Millennium, 3158 E. Burnside, Saturday February 13 at 5 pm. Mortenson has been acknowledged as one of the best young bass players in Oregon by the School of Rock National Allstars.

LAURELTHIRST FEBRUARY WITH LEWI LONGMIRE’S LEFT COAST ROASTERS Thursday’s happy hour 6 to 8 pm each week with Bill Rudolph, bass, Ned Folkerth, drums and Dan Eccles, guitar. This is a great rock and roll band full of surprises. Monday happy hour is PORTLAND COUNTRY UNDERGROUND with Lewi, Dave Reisch, Darrin Craig, David Lipkind, Jason Montgomery and Ben Nugent playing classic country and originals MICHAEL HURLEY AND THE CROAKERS play every third Friday happy hour with Dave Reisch, Lewi Longmire and others.
