Thursday, March 3 is a very special rare, up front intimate concert featuring one of the world’s most creative musical beings, trombonist Julian Priester. Better get there well before the 8 pm start. All ages are welcome.

Priester will perform in a variety of settings, both solo and as a large group featuring John Jensen, David Haney, Fred Chalenor, Scott Steele, Jeremy Shaskus, Nadya Kadrevis, Michael Mahaffray and Mike Lastra.

In his teens, Priester played with blues and R&B’s Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley, and saxophonist Sonny Stitt. He is one of the great trombonists to come out of the post bop 50s and has been recorded extensively with Sun Ra, Max Roach, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Charlie Haden, Dave Holland, Herbie Hancock, Sonny Stitt and so many others. He has been awarded a lifetime achievement award from the Grammy foundation and for many good reasons too.
