Posada Milagro 2016 is a family celebration of Christmas at Milagro Theatre, 537 SE Stark St. held Sunday, December 18 from 1 pm to 5 pm. The entrance is through El Zócalo at Centro Milagro and it’s free and open to the public. For the 14th year, this community celebration, filled with Latin American traditions, reflects upon the journey of Mary and Joseph in their search for refuge.
The day’s festivities include arts and crafts and storytelling for children 5 and under, a piñata for all ages, and traditional foods for purchase by Tortilleria y Tienda De Leon’s. The annual Pastorela is presented in the theatre in two shows at 2 pm and 4 pm, with folkloric dances by Ballet Papalotl, music from Cosecha Mestiza, and a performance by Latinx Improv.
Tickets for the performances in the theatre are free and will be distributed on a first come/first served basis beginning at 1 pm.
Each year Milagro partners with Oregon Food Bank to collect food for its hunger-relief agencies throughout Oregon and Clark County, Washington. Please bring canned food/non-perishable items to help make this food drive a success.
