The 2nd Annual Tree Lighting at The Fernie Brae, 4035 SE Hawthorne, was well-attended and fun! Attendees, adults and children alike, created glittery ornaments and enjoyed hot chocolate and cider courtesy of neighbor business, New Seasons Market. It is very nice to have a place to kick off the holiday season with our businesses, friends and neighbors.
The 2016 Gift Guide was available and had a good array of specials and gift items from local businesses. The Guide’s printing and distribution were sponsored by HBBA (member dues), Fred Meyer, Roosevelt’s Terrariums, Presents of Mind, Asylum, beethinking, Imelda’s and Louie’s and the 20 participating businesses. (Next year we want 36 businesses to take part in it).
We are accepting ideas for a sidewalk “parade” to lead people to the tree-lighting next year. Dressed up dogs? Decorated umbrellas? Start at 50th and at 12th or 17th and meet at The Fernie Brae? Send ideas and interest to think@thinkhawthorne.com.
Thank you to more businesses and neighbors who support the District and its business association (HBBA) by becoming early financial supporters through paying dues and signing up for sponsorships of our annual events!
