82nd Avenue Business Association
By Nancy Chapin
The Avenue is getting dressed up, cleaned up and, with luck and a lot of hard work, will be easier to shop on, eat at, buy groceries, cars, medical services, insurance and almost anything you need to have a good life. Adding the schools, a park or two (not enough young people activities though) and active Neighborhood Associations, we who live nearby are the lucky ones!
Your Business Association is redesigning a Dining Guide that will lead visitors and newcomers to our doors from downtown, I-205 or the airport. We’re hoping for a mid-September printing to be available at the Visitor Centers at Travel Portland and the airport.
Wishing you an excellent move into Fall. Contact us at 82ndaveba.com.
Central Eastside Industrial Council
By Andrea Blanco
CEIC and its enhanced service district are hosting the People’s Job Interview at Revolution Hall (1300 SE Stark St.) Wednesday, September 23. This $10 ticketed event gives voters a fresh look at the candidates vying to represent District 3. The premise is simple: they want the job, and the audience is the hiring committee. Doors open at 6 pm, when candidates will make their pitch and field questions about the issues that matter most to our community, moving beyond the usual campaign sound bites. At 7:30 pm we shift into a post-show mingle with food, drinks and one-on-one conversation with the candidates. Special thanks to Happylucky and Revolution Hall for helping bring this event to life! Learn more and reserve your ticket at centraleastside.biz.
