Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble’s (PJCE) livestream series continues in April with Dyad: Dance and Music Improvisations, curated in partnership with Performance Works Northwest, and additional support from the Creative Music Guild.
The duos of dancer/musicians Crystal Jiko Sasaki and Darian Anthony Patrick and Marissa Rae Niederhauser and Andrew Jones each perform an improvisational, collaboratively developed duet, focused on the interaction between two artists in the moment.
The online presentation on Saturday, April 24, 7 pm consists of the premiere of a 30-minute pre-video filmed and edited by Seth Nehil and audio by PJCE’s Douglas Detrick.
Detrick and PWNW’s Linda Austin will moderate a Q&A with the artists joining in remotely to answer questions from the audience.
Tickets are sliding scale $0-25, (suggested: $10, $5 for 65 +, and 35 or younger, and free for PJCE Sustainers).
