Ride Through the Seasons

The Portland Bureau of Transportation’s (PBOT) Ride Through the Seasons is back for 2026. Whether you ride every day or occasionally on the weekends, biking in the fall and winter provides a unique way of feeling connected to the city.
Ride Through the Seasons encourages all Portlanders to try out biking beyond summer and fall. Through a series of group rides and skill-building workshops, PBOT’s Portland By Cycle team will share tips and resources to help you feel confident biking in all weather conditions. Plus, they’ll be raffling off small prizes like bike lights and waterproof gloves at each event.
The All-Season Cycling Workshop takes place Tuesday, November 3, 4-5 pm at Go Lloyd, 700 NE Multnomah St., third floor. During the interactive session, learn tips and techniques for staying dry, comfortable and safe while biking all year round.
Saturday, November 7, 10:30 am-1 pm the Waterways Real and Metaphoric Ride starts at Delicious Donuts, 12 SE Grand Ave. The ride is a tour of public art and community spaces where rainfall and water play an important role in Portland. Free BIKETOWN codes to access a bike for the ride can be obtained by emailing claire.bach@portlandoregon.gov.
In addition to engaging events, PBOT is hosting a month-long photo contest and raffle throughout November. You’ll have a chance to win waterproof and high-visibility gear from sponsors Portland Design Works (PDW), Showers Pass and Cleverhood. The bureau will also be raffling annual BIKETOWN memberships. To enter the Rainy Rider Photo Contest, text a photo of yourself and your bicycle in the rain to 888.520.0526.
